Minnesota’s three largest political parties - Republican, Democrat, and Independence - will hold precinct caucuses on Tuesday, February 5th at various locations. As a Minnesotan, this is your first chance to officially register your choice for the candidate who will represent your party in the next presidential election. In addition to voting for the presidential candidate, the caucuses offer an opportunity to vote on resolutions that may become part of the 2008 party platform. Anyone can attend, there are stipulations to vote:
- Must be 18
- Must live in the precinct of the caucus
- Must not be an active member of another political party
- Must not attend another party’s caucus
- Must have lived in Minnesota for at least 20 days
For more information and to check the location of your caucus visit the
Minnesota Secretary of State’s website.
