Forest Lake Arts In The Park

June 17th, 2008 · No Comments

The pavillion at the Lakeside Park in Forest Lake. The Forest Lake Park Board kicked off Tuesday Night Arts In The Park tonight and we could not have asked for a better night. The weather was clear and warm with a wonderful breeze coming across Forest Lake. Root 66 played at the Lakeside Park pavillion to a crowd of 200 or so people who enjoyed the music as well as strolling the park to view the offerings of about 2 dozen vendors. For those who don’t know, when I am not wearing my Realtor hat I can be found in my pottery studio turning out functional high fire stoneware. I actually got my start in pottery in Forest Lake about 9 years ago when my wife and I took a community education class at the Forest Lake High School. We are lucky to have an extremely strong ceramics program in our school and after taking the class I was hooked on the ancient art. Soon after the class ended I started collecting the equipment neccessary to put together a fully functioning studio in my home and 9 years, and countless hours, later I am creating functional ceramic art for pottery lovers to enjoy in their homes. I had a great time tonight sitting by the lake, listening to music, talking with my neighbors and enjoying life in Forest Lake. Arts In The Park takes place every Tuesday from 5:00 until 9:00 with entertainment starting at 7:00. Lakeside Park is located just to the east of the intersection of Highway 61 and Broadway, directly behind the Keller Williams office.
